Truly one of the most unique places I've visited and, it seems, I went just in time. Havana is just as loud, busy, bright, noisy, musical and hot as you'd imagine. The people will befriend you and hustle you (though my Spanish managed to get me out of a few strange situations in small rooms). The music and beaches are dreamy - though fraught with problematic political and social histories. The architecture is at once inspiring and decrepit. And the 1950's monster vehicles! It was, such a unique week and a half.
